Job Description
  • The role of the Project Engineer is to assist the Project Superintendent and Project Manager in ‘making lights green’ for project team and facilitating customer satisfaction. Will work efficiently with project team, trades and suppliers.
  • Assist Project Superintendent as directed including site planning and logistics, material quantities, equipment needs, temporary heat, power and water sources, confirming site deliveries and project schedule updates.
  • Assist Project Manager by completing assigned tasks such as submittals, RFI’s, PR’s, confirming adherence to project specifications, interpreting project drawings, attending project meetings, and issuing meeting minutes promptly.
  • Maintain official project logs and documentation files. Communicate subcontractor performance (workload, workmanship, safety etc.) with Project Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Assist in resolving construction problems (incomplete or conflicting plan details, lack of productivity, schedule difficulties, water intrusion, condensation, etc.), as required. Keep Superintendent and Project Manager informed on all aspects of project.
  • Cooperate in the preparation of material and evidence for organizational use in project change order claims, hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations. Represent our client in community or industry groups and programs.
  • Perform additional responsibilities per leadership direction.
  • Conduct business in an ethical and professional manner, keeping interests of the team above individual interests.
  • Contribute to our culture of experience and knowledge sharing
  • Relevant college degree in construction management, engineering or completion of at least three-months of internship with equivalent successful work experience in construction in a leadership role.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills including ability to effectively manage stressful situations.
  • Ability to effectively write reports and business correspondence, present information and respond to questions from cross discipline team members.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; PM Software such as PlanGrid, TEAM, Bluebeam; Vista by Viewpoint, etc. Ability to use or willingness to learn company specific project management and accounting software.
  • OSHA 30 for Construction, would be a plus
  • Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA), would be a plus
  • Other construction related leadership and technical training, would be a plus
  • Valid state driver’s license with insurable driving record
  • Employee is regularly required to stand, frequently required to walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear and smell.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee should also be comfortable at high heights, climbing ladders and being on a scaffold in excess of 25’ in height.
  • The employee must frequently drive to several jobsites daily.
