Position Details 

Job Description

The Procurement Specialist will be expected to lead the end-to-end sourcing process for assigned projects, build relationships with suppliers and business stakeholders, and drive incremental value for the business. Cross-functional and cross-business coordination within the company is required. Candidates will be responsible for supporting numerous categories throughout the procurement department, and is not limited to one area. Projects stem from the initial request by a Leader within the organization through the company's internal ticket portal. It is then the responsibility for the candidate to engage with the Requester as a source of resolution and or guidance for their procurement needs. This is a highly visible customer/internal associate/supplier facing role that requires a high level of detail. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the Sourcing teams in achieving sourcing objectives by leading tactical sourcing events
  • Gather and interpret relevant data to assess costs, productivity, demand patterns, etc.
  • Contribute to post-contract sourcing delivery success (savings, compliance, buying channel optimization) related to assigned sourcing projects
  • Provide Actionable Savings, Spend, and Compliance Insight
  • Ensure that legal terms in contracts are in line with category and procurement objectives


  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business or technical discipline
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience handling duties as details above
  • Proficient in Microsoft products (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent analytical skills; ability to research and make efficient use of resources to achieve effective business results
  • Solid public speaking and negotiation skills required
  • Experience in developing project plans and presenting business cases to Senior Leaders preferred
  • Understanding of major sourcing processes, supplier and customer interface
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously in a timely and professional manner; ability to transfer lessons learned into new processes; flexibility in job focus
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Proven ability to speak, work, and communicate with various associate levels throughout the organization
  • Ability to assimilate, analyze, draw conclusions, and make recommendations from multi-faceted and often ambiguous data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal oversight
  • Detail oriented and critical thinker
  • Experience with e-sourcing tools is a plus
