Job Description

  • Performs blood collections and other procedures on all age groups in a safe, accurate and professional manner.
  • May be required to perform duties in more complex, high paced work areas such as the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Pediatrics, and Operating Rooms.
  • Responsible for accurate patient identification, specimen integrity and sample labeling.
  • Interacts with customers in a pleasant, efficient and cooperative manner.
  • May respond to emergent situations, or perform out-call collections (nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and private homes), sweat sodium collections, breath alcohol testing, chain of custody collections, ambulatory blood pressures, and other testing.
  • Utilizes multiple computer systems.
  • Works cooperatively with peers, gives and receives constructive feedback, and may assist with training.
  • Must be highly organized, efficient, and multi-functional with the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Must possess skills in coping, adherence to policy and procedure, understanding and following written instruction, commitment to task, attention to detail, decision making, problem solving, and interaction.
  • Must maintain a professional image at all times.

Job Specific Details

  • Multiple Shifts and Schedules Available
  • Full Time and Part Time Available
  • $15.75-17.25/Hour

 

Qualifications

  • Requires a High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled or graduate of a phlebotomy training program that provides a clinical rotation or 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
  • Inpatient (hospital) experience is preferred.

 

Education

  • Requires a High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled or graduate of a phlebotomy training program that provides a clinical rotation or 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
