The mission of the Information Technology Group (ITG) is to develop, implement and maintain technology-based services and solutions enabling the clinc to effectively manage information to accomplish its missions.
Within this program are two projects: (1) Implementation of Epic Systems population health module known as Healthy Planet and its adoption by the enterprise (2) Operationalization of Epic Caboodle Data Warehouse (CDW). The Healthy Planet population health module will be deployed in collaboration with Epic, Salem Health. The operationalization of CDW will include retirement of a legacy custom-built data warehouse and the transition of end user reports from IBM Cognos to Business Objects, Epic Reporting Workbench, and Tableau. This effort will also involve integration of 3rd party data, including other partner sites such as Salem Health.
As an essential part of the Operationalization of CDW as well as the Data Warehouse divestiture at the facility, this position is responsible for advanced ETL and database design and development utilizing Epic’s framework for developing Caboodle ETL. SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis will be utilized as required. These processes are used in support of healthcare financial, clinical and shared services customers. ETL design and development that delivers information effectively to and from CDW data star schema and OLAP data structures while following the SDLC process are hallmarks of this position. The ideal candidate will possess advanced-level ETL experience with Epic Caboodle’s ETL framework as well as experience using Microsoft’s data warehouse tools, including SSIS and SSAS. Hands-on experience with Epic Caboodle Data Warehouse is required with Epic Clarity preferred. Finally, the candidate shall be able to effectively read as well as author SQL at an advanced level.
This position is responsible for developing data warehouse structures in support of the implementation of Partners Caboodle Data Warehouse. Data will be sourced from Epic’s Clarity Operational Data store as well as various external databases and third-party data files. This work ensures that the information assets of the enterprise are leveraged to enhance financial, clinical, and operational decision-making, therefore ensuring competitive business advantages. This position is responsible for partnering with BI business analysts, SQL Server Database Administrators, and end-user layer Business Intelligence developers in implementing information technology solutions delivered to SQL Server for leveraging in SAP Business Objects, Epic Hyperspace, and Tableau. These solutions allow users to appropriately generate timely, accurate and comprehensive information for managing our business.
This position is responsible for the support of Caboodle Data Warehouse and SSIS for the team of developers and will be responsible for developing best practices with respect to coding, error handling, and parameter management. This position is also responsible for detailed technical analysis to assure the availability and accuracy of data processed by the ETL or contained in the supported data warehouse and systems.

ITG employees are responsible for the security of technology. In exercising their duties, ITG employees must follow security directives, incorporating security measures in the delivery of their everyday tasks, and are required to report security concerns to the ITG Security Engineering team.
DataWarehouse, ETL and Systems Development:
Contributes to the growth of the Caboodle Data Warehouse by designing, developing and implementing Caboodle ETL processes, SQL Server Data Structures, ANSI SQL code and SQL Server Structures. Work with BI architects, developers, analysts and users to design, create and publish ETL processes and ETL metadata using CDW and SSIS ETL processes as required. Provide complete and consistent documentation of data warehouse content and ensure that users can determine what data is available in the warehouse, how this data is defined, how key metrics are defined and analysis is performed.
Use the knowledge gained by working with the ETL team and through prior experience to analyze healthcare data in order to meet reporting requirements. Deliver additional ETL tools and/or data warehouse systems/products to improve the use of business data in the decision making process. Facilitate customer requests for new or changed solutions. Develops options with recommendation, creates functional specifications including performance requirements, creates test plans to confirm delivered functionality.
System Administration & Application Management: Administers the Microsoft development toolset including SQL Server Integration Services by performing maintenance and upgrades and supporting the development team in the use of these tools. Leads the development and dissemination of SSIS development best practices including but not limited to error and status logging and development parameter management. Configures and manages the integration between TFS and SSIS in the support of code migration activities between server instances. Develops scripts and code to assist in the automation of administrative processes.
Systems Engineering: Works closely with other IT staff to meet expectations for design reviews and coding standards. Provides issue resolution during Quality Assurance / User testing. Assists with the move to production/implementation process. Troubleshoot and analyze ETL process failures, data anomalies and other ETL or data warehouse issues identified by automated monitoring, other developers and end users. Work through established processes to resolve any system or data problems and communicate updates and status to affected groups. Recommend changes to ETL processes and/or the data warehouse model to improve existing structures and code to increase reliability and efficiency. Provides technical expertise to support end users developing ad-hoc queries and departmental reports. Support could include consulting on techniques/best practices, troubleshooting of their solutions, as well as promotion of user developed solutions to Quality Assurance and Production. Respond to and track issues using HP Service Manager issue management tools.
Data Modeling: Work with data warehouse developers, line-of-business analysts and users to develop data structures that support and enhance information access, analysis and reporting.
