PRIMARY PURPOSE: To plan, direct, and manage three sales channels; the Enterprise, Federal and International sales business efforts for E.F. Johnson Technologies.  To develop strategic sales business plans to insure accomplishment of company objectives.  Plans, directs and coordinates the efforts of sales staff toward accomplishment of objectives.  Generates sales volume as needed to meet or exceed business plan.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Develops, recommends and implements Sales department programs, procedures and goals to align with company objectives; communicates objectives to sales staff.  Contributes to the formulation and validation of corporate objectives and business plans.
  • Serves as leader within the industry.  Maintains knowledge of industry trends and translates to affect within organization.  Recommends changes in strategy as required.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationship with key customers and contacts.  Capable of personally handling “house accounts” as necessary.
  • Establishes sales quotas for sales department and individual sales staff.  Communicates to staff relative to achievement of these goals.
  • Develop manpower, facilities and financial requirement forecasts for Sales department.  Consolidates projections into operating and capital expenditure budgets.
  • Develops, communicates and delegates position responsibilities and objectives to sales staff.  Appraises performance of staff against position requirements, established goals, expectations and standards.  Provides effective and continuous feedback.  Assures the development and direction of a dynamic Sales department which will meet or exceed company goals.
  • Provides Sales department information for decision making and planning to CEO.
  • Participates as part of Sr. Management team in setting organizational goals, strategies, forecasting, reporting and measurement.
  • Keeps management informed of developments and trends in the industry and with key customers.  Develops needed strategies based on potential effects.
  • Develops and communicates Sales Business plan in conjunction with forecasting, budgeting and in relation to overall company goals and objectives. Provides periodic sales forecasts by customer and product lines.
  • Recommends sales compensation levels, special incentives and commission plan structure to management team.
  • Approves all purchase orders for the department.  Elevates requests per delegated authority.
  • Exhibits desirable and appropriate professional behavior including leadership, sense of urgency, independent judgement, industriousness, teamwork, ability to get along with others, creative thinking and personal integrity to provide for a cohesive, productive unit dedicated to the achievement of corporate goals.
  • Agrees to abide by and enforce the established Approval Matrix.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree in related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.  (MBA)
  • Extensive knowledge of Enterprise industry and business operations.
  • Experience with a major cellular carrier is preferred
  • Knowledge of Federal procurement and business operations
  • Experience with working with international sales groups as part of a global company
  • Radio Products industry knowledge or Wireless
  • 10-15 years related progressive industry experience in leadership roles.
  • Experience in establishing and developing effective sales teams.
  • Serving in leadership capacity within industry.
  • An entrepreneur within position or industry, requiring commanding presence and dynamic qualities.
  • Developing sales forecasts, budgets, quota’s, business plans.
  • Developing and delivering presentations, both internal and external.
  • Designing and developing sales organizations that are models for success within the industry.
