Responsible for the coordination & accountability of clinical regulatory & accreditation compliance across the organization.
Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
Is responsible for identifying and integrating new and changing clinical regulatory requirements into HealthEast Care System, relating to CMS, The Joint Commission, DHS, MDH, and other accreditation bodies
Oversees implementation of new and changing regulatory standards using the AMP tool (or similar application(s))
Guides teams where there are multiple regulatory agencies with differing standards or requirements to be in compliance with all, and ensure we meet the highest of the standards
Is accountable for delegation of oversight of all clinical regulatory agency work across the organization (maintains ownership and updates the “Regulatory Agencies and Accountable owners Document”)
Ensures proactive best practice implementation of surveillance activities (tracers, audits, inspections) and training associated with using AMP tool to identify gaps in the organization to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Works closely with Director of Nursing Practice and Education, as well as Medical Staff leadership to ensure practice and standards are updated with appropriate ongoing education and training to meet regulatory requirements
Oversees accountability to plan, conduct and record Internal Regulatory Meetings
Leads policy management oversight and compliance across the organization
Ensures appropriate operations team are involved in following standardized work to close any quality gaps
Oversees content of Annual Mandatory Education to meet regulatory requirements system wide.
Partners with system leaders ensure there is development, implementation and maintenance of effective, ongoing hospital-wide, data driven quality assessment and quality improvement program to meet regulatory requirements.
Partners with leaders and the data/informatics team to design effective regulatory measurement plans when needed to assist in identifying, prioritizing and monitoring regulatory improvement activities.
Experience: 3 to 5 years experience required in a clinical setting, experience in Quality, Performance Improvement and working with regulatory requirements,
including experience in working with physicians, leaders and staff, experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, and accreditation/regulatory surveys. Extensive experience in Quality, Performance Improvement, Data abstraction and interpretation, Software management, and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge: Knowledge of quality and improvement principles, tools and methods. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission, CMS, MDH, DHS, and other accreditation bodies. Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Data management skills. Clinical knowledge base with review and assessment of clinical records and data. Evidence-Based Practice knowledge and skills.
Bachelor’s degree required in Nursing or other Clinical degree or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
