Job Description:

  • Career Path Description: The position requires an applicant who hold a paralegal license. The position requires strong attention to detail. Applicant must be capable using Microsoft Word. Review and drafting of documents will be required.Provides a full range of legal advice and services. Responsibilities are within the Legal Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines. Position responsibilities: 1. Conducts and coordinates legal research. 2. Prepares correspondence and legal documents. 3. Acts as liaison among internal departments and with outside agencies. 4. Manages technical aspects of responses to document requests from local government and other regulators.


  • Experience Required: 3 to 5 years Certifications: Familiarity with the financial services sector.

    Core Skills & Requirement: Functional knowledge: Requires expanded conceptual knowledge in own discipline and broadens capabilities. Requires some general supervision and/or supervision to apply technical knowledge to our industry/markets.

    Business expertise: Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.

    Leadership: No supervisory responsibilities. Is accountable for developing functional knowledge in order to become a full contributor to the team and its work distribution.

    Problem solving: Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions using existing experience, existing standards/ precedents and processes; and will be getting more comfortable using own judgment.

    Impact: Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team; works within standardized guidelines, procedures and practices and meets deadlines as described by supervisor.

    Interpersonal skills: Exchanges straightforward information with others; asks questions and checks for understanding. Is being more independent in thought; is starting to challenge "why" and gets involved in more difficult discussions.

    Technical Skills & Requirements: Business Partnering (for OGC): Demonstrates a working understanding of the processes, objectives, and challenges within assigned customer accounts; communicates broad understanding of the benefits of a solution. Builds understanding of the customer's processes and activities to suggest legal solutions that meet customer needs. Provides input to help others consider rules, regulations, and time frames of the business, as well as the impact on end users when implementing new practices, products or solutions.

    Knowledge of Legal and Regulatory Requirements: Keeps current on laws, controls and regulatory requirements framework and structure. Assists with research and evaluation of programs and processes to remain current on industry trends. Builds knowledge of internal and external market control environments.

    Regulatory Affairs Compliance and Requirements: Assesses events and processes against laws, regulations or standards.

    Technical Communication/Presentation: Confirms comprehension and understanding of complex information (e.g., legal, operational risk, and regulatory data) by correctly and clearly answering routine questions. Assists team members in the creation of routine technical communication materials (e.g., policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages). Develops an understanding of the different audience groups in the business unit/function that receive technical communications and how they differ from each other.

    Negotiation and Influence: With assistance from senior staff, works with appropriate parties to negotiate simple or short-term contracts. Considers the situation from the point of view of the other party to identify a common ground; calculates the costs and benefits of possible solutions and the implications of not reaching an agreement. Exchanges information in straightforward situations to gain support of and effectively influence others.
