Job Description
 
  • Provide superior customer service answering multi-line phone system.
  • Resolve patient inquiries satisfactorily and timely. Maintain and update patient accounts and answer incoming patient billing questions. Process incoming mail.
  • Provide superior customer service, in person and on the phone to all patients, Fairview entities, insurance companies and our outside collection agencies.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbal
  • Communicate appropriate information to others according to established procedures to support day-to-day operations.
  • Assist customers with basic billing questions. Generate manual and online billing for resubmission for third party payer's outstanding balances.
  • Resolve AR issues (insurance information, credit card payments, missing payments, charge errors and point-of-sale (POS) issues.
  • Gather information for billing
  • Contact insurance carriers, benefits offices or patients to determine coverage and verify insurance
  • Collect amount appropriately
  • Ready account for billing
  • Maintain and update patient accounts
  • Review, process and distribute mail. Resolve mail returns.
  • Document mail returns, address corrections and re-address correspondence for mailing
  • Document deceased information and handle filing of probate papers
  • Document filing and idscharge/dismissal of bankruptcies
  • Provide clean and concise documentation
  • Document verbal and non-verbal communications
  • Accurate and timely notation in computer systems

Qualifications
  • Minimum Experience
  • 1 year customer service experience n a business office.
  • Preferred Experience
  • Call Center experience.
  • Experience in pharmacy.
Additional Requirements
  • Excellent keyboarding/data entry skills, strong customer service skills.
  • May require evening and/or weekend rotations.
Skills
  • Solid understanding of pharmacy and other related services
  • Knowledge of other Fairview or community programs and resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to perform appropriately in stressful situations.
  • Working understanding of Fairview EMR that provides referrals and referral information
  • Excellent data entry skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to obtain and record information in FPS’s EMR.
  • Maintains strong working knowledge of the current FPS EMR software system.
  • Good working knowledge of PC equipment, printers, copy and fax machines
  • Excellent organization and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently in a busy and stressful environment

Special Considerations

  • High School Diploma or GED
