Position Details 

Job Description:

  • Assists Ways to Wellness team with daily tasks and responsibilities. Tasks including but not limited to assisting with Kitchen Table operations (grocery shopping, organizing educational materials, making copies, cleaning, washing dishes), and front desk operations (answering phones, greeting clients, organizing materials, making copies, etc.).
  • Job Expectations:
    Multi-task and troubleshoot production in a fast paced teaching kitchen environment
    Travel within the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area
    Arrive a minimum of one hour prior to the start of each scheduled class for kitchen prep and set up
    Deliver approved curriculum to adult learners utilizing proven teaching strategies
    Effectively facilitate lecture, demonstration and lab modules while answering participant’s questions
    Properly and safely label and store all remaining food per MDH guidelines
    Clean, sanitize and reset assigned teaching kitchen to include all soiled equipment and dishes
    Organization Expectations, as applicable:
    Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served
    Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making.
    Communicates in a respective manner.
    Ensures a safe, secure environment.
    Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs.
    Modifies clinical interventions based on population served.
    Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver.
    Fulfills all organizational requirements
    Completes all required learning relevant to the role
    Complies with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulation, policies, procedures and standards.
    Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency and innovative thinking.
    Performs other duties as assigned


  • Education
    High school diploma or equivalent
    2 years or more working in an upscale food service establishment
    ServSafe Certification
    Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager
    Two-year Culinary Degree
    Formal Teaching/Speaking Experience
