Job Description
  • To assist with the design, production and creation of visual materials for our Client and our Client affiliates in a variety of mediums, which may include: books, magazines, brochures, physical displays, gifts, posters and electronic mediums including web design, electronic presentations, and multimedia products.
  • The Production Designer may perform and/or assist in: image manipulation, file preparation, information layout, physical assembly, and/or direct customer consultation in additional to their normal production activities.
  • Some tasks will be routine and pre-defined, others more open to creative problem solving within our Client’ s brand identity standards.
  • They are an integral team member.

 

 

Specific Job details:
  • To assist with the design, production and creation of visual materials forour Client and our Client' s  affiliates in a variety of mediums, which may include: books, magazines, brochures, physical displays, gifts, posters and electronic mediums including web design, electronic presentations, and multimedia products.
  • The Production Designer may perform and/or assist in: image manipulation, file preparation, information layout, physical assembly, and/or direct customer consultation in additional to their normal production activities.
  • Some tasks will be routine and pre-defined, others more open to creative problem solving within our Client’ s brand identity standards.
  • They are an integral team member.
  • A large initial portion of the work will be templated items, needing updates and copy updated.
  • HOURS: Will vary based on project needs.
  • Anywhere between 0-40 hours per week.
  • Open to someone who has a max availability of 30 hours per week but no less than that.
  • Will have to get those hours in from 7am-5pm.

 

Qualifications:
  • This position requires a two-year degree in graphic design, fine arts, illustration or related field.
  • At least two year’ s experience in a service-oriented high-volume setting, manipulating and optimizing images, and assisting with product design and production.
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and articulately;
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team-based environment;
  • Ability to take direction from art directors and designers.
  • Organized self-starter that is highly productive, has a strong work ethic, is detail-oriented, and has good basic design instincts. 
    Candidates should possess excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The production designer must be able to work under tight deadlines, work on multiple projects at one time, and be able to self-manage workloads.
  • Flexibility is a requirement as the field evolves towards newer technologies. 
    Candidates must be familiar with the use and application of a wide variety of design software programs.
  • Expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Microsoft Office.
  • Thorough knowledge of Web image formats, image optimization and image manipulation. 
    Portfolio review will be required. Candidates must be highly motivated, flexible, resourceful, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to manage multiple production tasks simultaneously in a deadline driven environment filled with ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Candidates must also be able work independently, communicate clearly and concisely, and demonstrate excellent problem solving skills.
  • The ability to contribute effectively in a team environment and build rapport with colleagues and clients is critical.
  • He/she must demonstrate an understanding of publishing technologies which may or may not include prepress, printing, multimedia and web publishing.
  • Close attention to detail and follow-through are very important.
