Desktop Support/Windows Migration
This dept. has a strategic plan to replace the aging Windows 7 operating system with Windows 10. The Business Plan includes the goal to move from Windows 7 to Windows 10 before the beginning of seasonal tax processing preparations that commence in November 2017. The new operating system has productivity enhancements but more importantly puts dept. computers in compliance to the IRS 1075 Publication. Dept. does not have resources available to work on this project and continue to meet ongoing business requirements.
The roles will be responsible for using appropriate methods to prepare over 1,600 computer deployments from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Each computer must be either replaced with a newly imaged computer or be imaged in place. The resources should have knowledge and experience in computer (desktop/laptop) operating systems, computer applications, computer hardware, network printer support, multi-monitor support, and peripheral support (scanners, webcams, label printers). The resources should have familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures for the support of networked computers. We expect a degree of creativity and latitude. These resources will be directed by FTE leads.
Training and Experience
Resources will be expected to meet deadlines for deployments that include placement logistics, computer imaging and quality testing. The project plan will define expected work and time-lines. Status meetings and reviews of expected deliverables will ensure resources are meeting expectations.
